Shop's history
The Picasso Museum was inaugurated in 1963. The personal relations between Picasso and Barcelona, essential for understanding the museum's formation process, began at the end of the 19th century and remained alive until his death. Barcelona became an important link in Picasso's life.
Created by Picasso’s desire, it is the result of the convergence of the efforts and wills of a community; in the first place by his personal secretary and great friend Jaume Sabartés, but also by his wife Jacqueline Picasso, from the Barcelona society that so admired the figure of Picasso and from Barcelona City Council.
