Monk, the new cocktail bar from the La Confitería group, comes to say that speakeasy is still alive, and that in front of the flashy cocktail bar and the leather sofa, nothing like a secret door to show that one of the best ingredients for a cocktail is the exclusivity of being known in a hidden place from the eyes of the rest of the world.
Shop's history
Like good secret societies, Monk's looks like a church. The brick arched ceiling is reminiscent of the naves of the basilica of Santa María, which is so close, and on the raised platform where the sofas in the private area are located, a wooden pulpit houses the DJ booth.
The new cocktail bar of La Confiteria group was born the same, hidden behind what appears to be a small neighborhood supermarket.
It is a place related to contemporary art, where each cocktail is an artist, where each space has a different inspiration and color palette, and where each environment is defined by light because, any artist knows, in the end, colors are nothing more than different intensities of light.
